What can I expect for the first appointment?

Once you schedule an appointment with Crosstown Psychology, our clinicians will provide you with electronic forms that you can review and complete prior to the appointment. These forms will describe the clinic’s procedures and help clinicians gather relevant information prior to your visit. These forms will then be reviewed together at the start of your first appointment.

How long are appointments?

Appointments are 60 minutes in duration that includes 50 minutes of session time with your clinician and 10 minutes allotted to the clinician to complete necessary paperwork for your medical records.

What are the goals of the first appointment?

The first appointment provides an opportunity for your clinician to understand your current concerns. It is a time that you can discuss together your relevant history, the present difficulties and, any other information that can help with the development of a treatment plan. The treatment plan can help in identifying both the goals of the work and the therapeutic strategies that can help make this process feel most helpful for you.
