Qualifications & Background

Dr. Nadia D’Iuso

Psychologist and Co-director

By the time I was 16, I knew I wanted to be a psychologist. A close family member’s unexpected passing shook my world and left me grappling with intense emotions and questions I didn’t have answers to. Witnessing my family’s pain and feeling powerless to help solidified my drive to understand and support others through their emotional struggles. I saw clearly the power of emotions and the importance of receiving help in times of distress.

From there, I pursued extensive training to become a licensed psychologist. Yet, it was my mentor’s advice—“How can you truly relate to clients if you haven’t walked through your own challenges?”—that drove me to take a leap of faith. I uprooted my life, moved to Albany, and embarked on a doctoral journey, embracing the vulnerability and growth that came with it.

Facing those hard realities firsthand deepened my empathy and understanding. Now, as a psychologist, I bring that lived experience to my practice, knowing that falling, learning and growing are integral to truly connecting with and supporting my clients.

Dr. Debora D’Iuso

Psychologist and Co-director

My path to becoming a psychologist wasn’t always straightforward. Initially, I studied in another discipline, but my heart was in connecting with people and making a difference in their emotional lives. That’s why I followed in my sister’s footsteps and chose to pursue psychology.

Navigating life’s challenges, including the whirlwind of parenting, has taught me the importance of having a growth mindset and embracing continuous learning. I’ve had my share of moments where I felt like I was just winging it in life, which is why I make it a point to practice the strategies I recommend to my clients. Understanding their struggles from a personal perspective allows me to offer more effective support.

Through my extensive training and experience, I’m equipped with the knowledge and practical skills to address a range of issues. Beyond credentials, what matters most is the genuine connection I build with my clients. Working alongside my sister Nadia, we approach therapy with empathy, compassion, and even a little humour. We’re here to lock arms and walk alongside you on your journey, helping you achieve the growth and learning you’re striving for.
